The next meeting will be in Cardiff, hosted by Allen Gibbs, on Friday June 8^th 2012 when we will be joined by the Club de Pathologie Thoracique. Contributions to the programme should be submitted to Allen Gibbs allenrg@btinternet.com well in advance. The original convention for these FrancoBritish meetings was that one could speak in either French or English so long as one’s text slides were in the other language. More recently the French have used English throughout but if any of our members wish to speak in French it would be appreciated by many of our guests, so long as the French was fluent. Similarly, if anyone ventures to  translate their text slides into French our guests would no doubt appreciate this too, again so long as the French was good: there are one or two members of the French Club who would be happy to cast an eye over such slides, sif they are given plenty of time. No matter how fluent  the French are in English they are likely to struggle with English acronyms (cf AIDS v SIDA) and abbreviations, which as ever are therefore best avoided.
